When is Your Vacation?
When is your vacation? What do you mean you are not taking one? Why not? Do yourself a favor and schedule a few days off, even a long weekend off. It will do your body and mind and emotions a world of good. You will come back fresher and with new ideas.
Fifty percent of Americans don't take vacations. Here are some facts from the New York Times: A Families and Work Institute study found that overworked employees are more likely to make mistakes, to be angry at their employers and at colleagues who do not work as hard. These employees are also more likely to have higher stress levels, experience symptoms of clinical depression, report poorer health and neglect themselves.
I take time away from home because as an entrepreneur, I work out of my home a lot. I feel a need to achieve in my home office. It is necessary for me to be in a new environment.
Last week I went out to the desert to a hot springs. By myself. Yes, it was 109 degrees. Yes, the water was very warm. Yes, it was incredible. Native American land. Very few tourists. No telephone, no television, and my cell phone had no signal. I can't tell you had good I felt. How relaxed. How healing the waters were. It helped me tremendously on my own healing journey.
Give yourself the gift of some time off. Are you getting out your calendars? Promise?
I wish you abundant health and blessings. Until next time, Miluna
