You Can't Buy Health

I am concerned by the amount of pharmaceutical ads that are on the television.  It seems we still haven't figured it out.  You can't buy health!  Health is not something outside of ourselves.  Health is as much about thinking and choosing to be conscious and awake, as it is caring for ourselves.

Have you ever wondered why a drug has to be taken again and again for it to "work"?  It is because the body recognizes it as an invader or potentially harmful, and works to get it out of our systems.  Is our body great or what?   Let's say thank you to these marvelous things called physical bodies complete with emotions, brains, and hearts.

Perhaps you have heard stories of wealthy people saying that they had access to the finest medical care in the world and could pay any amount of money, but they couldn't save their own life or the life of someone they loved.  They would give away all of their money if they could have their health.

What are 10 things you can do for your health and wellness that are free?

1.  Walking outside in the sun and enjoying the abundance of Mother Nature.

2.  Smiling

3.  Laughing

4.  Making better choices

5.  Practicing the discipline of healthy thoughts

6.  Hugs

7.  Giving and receiving love

8.  Praying and meditating

9.  Saying no to things that don't make our heart sing

10. Borrowing a positive, up-lifting book from the library

Soul Vacation

I returned from my spiritual retreat to Mount Shasta, and it occurred to me that I had never taken a soul vacation before! I went with the intention of deepening my spiritual life and going on a journey, but our entire group of 12 decided to make a huge spiritual commitment.  I had no expectation of this happening.

We began our week at a mineral spa for cleansing.  The waters were amazing, like liquid crystal.  The waters from Mount Shasta contain silica, and it feels like soap or lotion on the skin. The sauna was heated with a wood stove, one of the few remaining anywhere in the United States.  I treated myself to another bath and facial at the end of the week.  I believe pampering yourself is a large part of health and wellness and our physical bodies deserve lots of TLC!

It was my first trip to Mount Shasta, and I found the energy there powerful and amazing.  As we drove into town, I began crying.  It was as if I had come home.  I don't remember ever crying before in any of my travels.  There is a powerful energy vortex located at Mount Shasta.

We ate amazing mostly organic foods, drank lots of pure water, hiked in the mountains, and received spiritual teachings.  Our group meditated, prayed, and asked questions.  We spent time together on the mountain, took a boat ride on Lake Siskiyou, and visited McCloud Falls.  We also spent some time shopping for crystals and jewelry and sacred objects.

We were encouraged to rest and incorporate our spiritual lessons and the energy we were receiving.  I found my sleep was very deep and it was so quiet there.

The vibration of our bodies was raised, and this is so important because a healthy, spirit-filled body has a high frequency.  This leads to more wellness, wholeness and vitality.

Ask yourself, "have I ever taken a vacation just for my soul or spirit?  You deserve it.

Until next time.  Healthy, abundant blessings!  Miluna
